Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I enjoyed my delivery from China Wok - although it wasn't the fastest (took about an hour on a friday night). My Chicken and Broccoli was not greasy or anything. Average size portion, but great price! For a dinner special I got soup, entree and rice for $6.95. I thought it was yummy!

this is the other place that i frequent for my fix of americanized chinese food. their north atherton location is part of the reason. there are only several things that I order from here because everything else is just passable. likes: hot and sour soup. singapore mei fun. steamed white rice. dislikes: every stir fry dish tried thus far has been way too greasy. (yes, i understand that chinese takeout is greasy, but this is too much).

There are MUCH better chinese restaurants in town. Uncle Chen, Golden Wok, Fuji & Jade, Big Bowl. Portions are average: bigger than Golden Wok, about the same as fuji&jade garden but smaller than uncle chen. Their food is ok, with their Kung Bo chicken (some kinda breaded version of kung pao chicken) is their best feature. Sechuan Chicken a close second. Their general tso and sesame chicken are terrible, with little or no flavor and way too crunchy. Big Plus: - only chinese restaurant in town to have lunch special on weekends! - lunch specials are very cheap - fried rice is good Big Minus: - delivery is awfully slow. - dishes are hit or miss.

The only Chinese food I've ever had that was worse was in Tyrone PA. Terrible. The service was incredibly slow. Food was delivered an hour after ordering; 30 minutes later than promised. Also, it was cold when it arrived. Very disappointing experience.

I ordered from Authentic China Wok and after waiting almost 90 minutes was very disappointed in the quality of food and manners of their staff. If you ever want Chinese, I will teach myself how to cook in the time it takes them to deliver and give you EXACTLY what you ordered, not what I had lying in the fridge. Google search chow mein and tell me it looks like a Caesar salad because Authentic China Wok laughed at me and said it did. Worst place in state college-- avoid with all costs, there are so many better and more "authentic" places to order from!!

UGH. IM SO FUCKING PISSED. My friend and I are at the library and we decide to use order up to get some food delivered to us. We chose China Wok. Not only did we wait for about an hour, they gave us the wrong food. I got chicken fried rice and my friend got shrimp fried rice. Instead, we only get shrimp fried rice and chicken cashew something. And on top of that, there were no plastic spoons or forks, I could of even settled for a straw. But no, so we ended up just using our hands. And just when you think that it can't get any worse, it does. There was hair in the food. HAIR IN THE FOOD AND THE WRONG FOOD AND LATE DELIVERY. I want to cry... I'm going to cry.

Ordered szechuan beef with pork fried rice and It's bland, lukewarm, just gross. I guess they couldn't spare a little extra soy sauce to give the rice more color. Never again...they'd have to pay me. SAVE YOURSELF DON'T ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!

I ordered at 10:17am and set time of delivery for 11:30am. When no one showed up by 11:40, I called and was told "I just printed it off, We'll have it to you in half an hour" Not good service. Had to call them again at 12:15 because they still hadn't shown up. When it did come, it was a good temp. The szechuan had NO spice to it at all. The the tofu wasn't really cooked - seemed more of an after thought that they even had it in there warmed up. The vegetable fried rice has a nice mix of veggies in it, so that part was good.

Food is decent. I didn't mind eating them, but the delivery is mad slow. I waited an hour and half for my first purchase, and 3 hours for my second one. Do they only have one drive or something? Also, I tasted NO SPICE from their spicy dishes. I even ask for extra spices, but I still taste none. Did they even try to put more in? I probably won't purchase from them again.

Their chicken lo mein was really good. The 2 combination platters for $12.95 is a really good deal and they deliver really quick to the N. Atherton area.

I'm calling this 3.5 stars. It's no four-star restaurant, but it certainly satisfied my hungover craving for greasy, spicy Chinese food yesterday! Delivery was quick, and while I initially thought the price of the entree was a little high, I realized when I opened my delightful heavy brown paper sack that the portion was literally twice what I got from Golden Wok. Hot and Sour soup was definitely hot, if not so sour. Cheese wontons were cheesy and crisp and not even too greasy. Mixed vegetables with garlic sauce were moderately spicy, with a good amount of sauce, and the veggies (a good combination of broccoli, bokchoy, carrots, onions, baby corn, pea pods, water chestnuts, green peppers, and mushrooms) were well-cooked. Rice was oily in appearance but not in flavor. Based on one hungover meal, this is my favorite Chinese in SC.
